- Take a few clear photos: top view, side view, and the face if you can. Good light and a plain background help a lot.
- Include a size. Put a ruler or coin next to it.
- Tell us where and when. State and county, the date, and the habitat (porch light, pond, garden, under bark).
- Share what you think it is. Even a guess like “some kind of beetle” helps.
